The Cars For Help Donated Vehicle Process
1) Cars For Help receives a phone call or CarsForHelp.com online donation stating the vehicle year/make/model as well as donor name, address, & contact information.
2) Cars For Help arranges for vehicle to be towed to auction facility. This will be done 1-3 business days after initial contact.
3) Vehicle title is cleared with state DMV. As long as there are no errors on the title, this is usually quick. Title errors are the #1 cause for delay in the donated vehicle process.
4) Vehicle is sold at auction. Typically auction houses have one sale per week.
5) Donor is notified of sale price and allowable tax deduction within 5 days of sale.
6) Proceeds go to help people in need!
